Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winning jazz singer. Nancy Wilson was born on 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe Ohio, to Olden Wilson, who was employed at the ironworks as well as Lillian Ryan, a former domestic worker. The agent of Adderley heard about her in The Blue Morocco Night Club, Boston Road, The Bronx and she then signed her contract. Within one month after arriving in New York City. The singer made her debut in 1960 with one single following a deal with Capitol records. Guess who? Capitol has released five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. She began by focusing on R&B, but under Adderley's influence, she began to embrace jazz. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley's collaboration in 1962 helped to bring her to the forefront as well as her hit Tell Me the Truth was recorded in 1963. It was this performance that helped her land a gig at New York Coconut Grove in 1963. It was the most crowded in America's nightclub.
