Nancy Wilson is a Grammy Award winner in jazz. Nancy Wilson was born on February 20, 1937, in the city of Chillicothe, Ohio to Olden Wilson who was a worker in an ironworks, and Lillian Ryan, a former domestic employee. Nancy was the youngest of six kids. Nancy was heavily influenced in her early years by the music her dad enjoyed and loved playing at her home. In her early years, she already had a strong sense of her identity and what she wanted to do. The choir at church encouraged her to develop this talent. After high school the singer began appearing frequently on Skyline Melodies. She was 15 when won the TV talent show. At the same age, she began to work in nightclubs. Nancy quit Central State University in Ohio after matriculating for an entire year. The first album she recorded was in 1956 by Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Big Band. The band performed with her throughout 1956 and 1957. In the band, Nancy made her first recording on Dot Records. Cannonball Aderley suggested she make the move in New York so as to enhance her career. In 1959 she moved into The Big Town. She was commissioned to perform in The Blue Morocco Night Club located in The Bronx which was where her agent had seen her. Agent Adderley signed her to Capitol in the year 1960. The year she made her debut was the same year. Guess who? Capitol issued five Nancy Wilson records in just two years. Her first album was focused on R&B and then, with Adderley's influence, she started to take on jazz. Nancy Wilson, Cannonball Adderley together with their 1962 group made her a star. The singer had her breakout smash Tell Me the Truth by 1963. The performance brought her to the stage at New York Coconut Grove in 1963, which was America's biggest nightclub.

The film featured her in a small cameo part in the role of Korr Sella for the film of 2015 Short Wars : The Force awakes. She acted as Chloe Winthrop in Netflix's original film The Kissing Booth Season 2 and 3.
