Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B in a distinct combination. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing and playing the piano in the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her musical path in the Atlanta's R&B culture. The very first track to have her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 song. Since then, it was remixed and has become an integral part of her repertoire. She has also contributed her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired as the keyboardist principal for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Director of Choral for Dreamgirls The stage show at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was caught the attention of people across the nation through 4 performances per day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was later asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
